Interesting combination of stairway and ramp at Alliance Francais. It’s space saving, elegant and just as usable as either would be independently – although it does require watching one’s step on the stairway.

  I have always thought of this as a masterpiece of design. I still don’t know who designed it.

  That turn looks really sharp for a wheelchair.

    The angle of this photo makes it hard to tell the width of the strip. It’s twice as wide at the turns and I suppose comfortable enough for a wheelchair.

  Slick. It also gives the illusion that one has to climb more steps than usual.
