Does LiveJournal throw a HTTP login box at you when visiting some journals? Twice per page? I’ve been hit by it the last month or so. Cancelling login doesn’t seem to affect the page at all. I’ve seen it on others’ screens too.

What changed?

I had this issue a while back and I did something and it stopped.. don't remember what it was though (flush LJ cookies or something like that )

I believe this is a problem with Safari (on Mac); Firefox/Camino and Opera work fine.
Haven't noticed this problem on a Windows machine (on any browser including Safari).

As far as I can recollect, it all started when Safari 3.0 Beta was released and I installed it. Reverting back didn't help either. For me, it only happens when I open any main journal page (recent entries) - 'Friends' page doesn't seem to have that problem.

I'm still on Safari 2.0.4. Haven't tried the beta.

I checked with Firefox, and indeed, there's no auth dialog. Maybe something in the Javascript that's going wrong with Safari?
