iDrop

GenTeal lubricant eye drops. 10 mL. To be used within a month of opening. Rs One Hundred and Twenty Four. City life is expensive!

(And when you say that without context, people point to darshinis for cheap food.)

    YOW.

    And with that userpic, watch out that it doesn't all go into the mouth.

    I am SURE that you can get an equivalent of those eye drops for much less. Who's your eye doctor?

    And what did he prescribe for your blood pressure after you learnt the price of the eye drops?

    And most important, has the eye irritation gone? If so, just forget the cost.

    Darshinis(adigas in Malleshwaram to be precise) are not in-expensive either .. I think I paid something like Rs. 15 only for a lemonade.

    hmm.. cough syrup could have done the trick too!

    The redness is coz of the capillaries shooting up and dialting away merrily, so you just needed a vaso-constrictor. If your blood pressure is in normal limits - which am sure it is - taking a nice healthy dose of a cold medicine/benadryl in whatever generic form helps as the side effect of them is to narrow the blood vessels.

    Used to be an optometrist in an earlier life, and hence the "lecture"

    $4 for an eye drop does seem expensive! But every time I visit, natives seem perfectly alright with counting in hundreds....

    why dont you use the liquid used by people who wear contact lens.... there is a brand name callde "RENU MULTIPLUS" manufactured by bausch and lomb, available wiht most opticians... a half litre bottle costs about 350 rupees. the drops help keep the contact lens moist, while i dont use contact lens, i have found this liquid very effective for lubricating my eyes...

      The contact lens solution is meant for the *lens* and not for your *eyes*. And it's main job is to clean the lens and disinfect it.

      Go check the contents, Boric Acid and Sodium Chloride are by no stretch of imagination *lubricants*

      The sensation of using a real lubricant and the contact lens solution is in no way comparable and are poles apart.

      And BTW one of the iterations of the ReNu solution caused serious infections and was taken off the shelves and there is a class action lawsuit against B&L.

    My doc recommended me this: Cineraria Maritima

    It is made out of a sap of flowering plant called "Dusty Miller", it is being used for thousands years by Millers and Miners whose eyes are dry due to dust.

    Take advice of a qualified homoeopath, I would suggest the one manufactured by Dr. Reckeweg (~Rs. 80... lasts 2-3 months).

    *shrug* it costs $8 here, so I'd totally get some from India.

    its `ml` and not `mL`

    units are case senstive
    ml = milli litre 10^-3 l
    Ml = 10^6 l

      have been using a product called "Hi-Visc, 0.8%". Have had chronic dry eyes. These drops have provided better relief (and for a longer duration) as compared to genteal, tears plus, refresh plus.

    Personally, I prefer Allergen Refresh Tears. It's really dry, cold and windy where I am so it works great.

    Hello.

    After using GenTeal liquid drops I have severe problems with my eyes.

    I want to sue this company for damages.

    I do not want to say the details of the problems but my doctor and I have traced it back to the GenTeal drops.

    Can anyone help me find a lawyer to sue them?

    I have never sued anyone or any company before but this has messed up my eyes and my life.

    This is 2010, July.

    Please write back here with any advice on finding a lawyer.

    Thank you.
