Late night ramble

Beware of mobile phone shops with hair dryers in the corner.

FabMall claims they are committed to each customer. But if you are committed to one, how can you be committed to anyone else at the same time? This sort of rhetoric works when it’s a bank with a personal banker who remembers your name and your last transaction and asks how it’s going, and the bank then gently assures you such friendliness is mandated by company policy. But a faceless shopping store where you only deal with bored checkout clerks? Committed?

About a couple of months ago, I complained to an attendent that the lone electric toothbrush on sale was sealed with tape, not factory sealed, and the reason I was considering switching brands was because Fabmall almost never had replacement heads when I needed them. She retorted denying it completely, claiming that they were always in stock and therefore that she could not believe me. There was no point trying to convince her that the brush heads were mysteriously missing when I came looking for them. She simply wouldn’t hear of it. WTF? Who qualified these people to run a store?

I usually sample restaurant special fare at least once to see what’s so special about it. Shiv Sagar’s Special Fried Rice comes topped with apple slices and silver foil.

My bike broke down, thanks to some two litres of rainwater that had accumulated in the tank. Now its insides are getting a petrol bath.

I see a lot of kids these days who walk around with backpacks hanging below hip level. It doesn’t look very comfortable.
