Hutch bills on a cycle by the road. Cyclist nowhere in sight. Is this how courier agencies treat the security of their consignments?

From what I’ve seen, the postal service seems more reliable than courier. I’ve actually missed getting stuff that was sent to me by courier! I got it by requesting the sender to resend by registered post.
Also, the postman would’ve been working on a certain area for months/years and will know the common mistakes or anamolies in those local addresses.
