And here’s Coffee Day’s funky wireless billing device. It prints the bill too.

We are doing something like this for ourselves too, but the hardware vendor isn’t much of a help when it comes to the software. Where in bangalore did you spot this? I might be in Bangalore next week and would like to go and take a look. Thanks dude

Symbol technologies is the company you are looking for. i did quite a few implementations of their mobile POS systems in the US. They work like a charm for mobile POS applications. FYI, National Amusements in the US is also looking at the same solution for their multiplexes. If you need help, let me know.

I have a handheld from HCL, which is a Taiwanese product they are reselling in India. They are selling it here but they suck when it comes to software support. We have a few interesting ideas in mind for this kind of a device. We are also currently working on a real time web based access solution for tickets but the handheld solution has taken a back seat due to lack of support.

I remember Symbol being fairly expensive but if there is a homegrown solution I’d be very keen. I am reaching Bangalore on Tuesday. Am planning to check this solution out at Coffee Day. Are you based in Bangalore? We could catch up if you’d be fine.

        Thanks a ton
