My new cellphone number is +91 99452 35123
The Hutch number will continue to remain active for the rest of today. Tomorrow I’m on Airtel. The number is 99452 35123. Yes, 99, not 98. Must be Airtel’s new countrywide numbering scheme, in the line of 93 and 94 for Reliance and BSNL.
My new phone is a Nokia 6681. More on that later.

99 is common. Everybody who got their (post paid) connections post May 05 seem to have 99. Whatever.

Mine's the first I've come across! I though it was a typo initially.

I thought your sms was a typo. Almost saved it as '98'.

I've seen many.

Looks like its got a lot of nice features.
I have the Siemens S66 which looks similar to this phone, slightly slimmer, I suppose. When you write about the phone, I would be interested in your comments as to the keypad, as it seems small, just like the S66.
How you feel using it, how many times you hit the wrong key, etc.

Hey, why didn't you go for the 6680? Was the price difference huge?
Kiran Jonnalagadda — Nov 19, 2005 1:14:34 AM — # ↩
Huge price difference, and no 3G in India anyway.

Is GPRS connectivity to the Internet via Bluetooth on a 6681 pretty straight forward?
If not, can you drop some hints/tips about how to get it working with a PowerBook?
Kiran Jonnalagadda — Nov 24, 2005 3:06:13 PM — # ↩
It's straightforward. Tell OSX you want to use the phone for dialup, Google for and install the Nokia GPRS modem scripts, and you're pretty much done.

I got it to work for my friend, it was as easy as saying 1, 2, 3...
BTW, hows the going with a 6600, someone has asked me for a recommendation for a phone which would alllow him to do the same as above but within a budget of 10K.

My 6600 died. I don't have one anymore.
Besides, the 6600 has a bug in its Bluetooth implementation preventing it from working as a GPRS conduit on Windows or Linux. Only works on a Mac.

Oh, OK, what about the 6630?

No clue, man. I'm not a cell phone encyclopaedia.
