WingIDE rocks

And in positive news today, I upgraded to WingIDE Pro 2.0. For Python programming, WingIDE seriously rocks. It’s the best IDE I’ve used since Delphi in the late-’90s. The more I use it, the more I love it.

Their customer support makes it even better. They respond the same day, usually within the same hour, and consider all suggestions and bug reports seriously. They give me the sense of security that even if I’m stuck in future, the license fee won’t be a dead investment.

I've been hearing a lot about Python. Just curious, what are you using Python for?

      sorry to butt in,
but, we use python for :
bioinformatics - we do a lot of the mathematical analysis using python
all our online data updates are with python
the load balancing on our cluster is done by python (using XML-RPC)

Pretty much all the code I've written since 1999 has been in Python or shell script. (There was a brief brush with PHP, but I ran away screaming.)

My primary use is with Zope and Plone, but there are the occasional standalone scripts like for posting to [info]jacemobile or generating postcards (which is meant to be used in Zope but also works standalone).
