Experiments with film

I’m experimenting with dad’s Nikon F70—he doesn’t use it anymore now that he has a digital. The lens on this camera is amazing. I’d love to have something like this with a digital camera. The lens has its own CPU!
Dad’s camera bag had two unused rolls expired November 2003 that I’m using for my test shoots. Does anyone know where I can get negatives scanned in Bangalore? Anyone with a drum scanner? And any idea how much it costs?

Maybe GK vale can help you with this? They are quite advanced in photographic equipment.

1. Film is scanned and given on a "Kodak PhotoCD"
2. postcard-sized prints of all the photos (i think more than one copy - not sure)
3. a free film roll
all this works out to somewhere under Rs.300ish

You can use those lenses with a digital. You need a D70.

Prabhu's Digital Imaging on a small street off of Brigade road is the place you are looking for. They don't have a drum scanner. But they have tons of Nikon film scanners and some great Macs to ogle at. The costs work out better if you scan the entire roll of film post processing before cutting. For some reason, the guy charges by tif image size instead of by scan resolution in dpi.
