Career Upgrade

An individual has only 24 hours in a day. A team, by definition, does not have such a restriction since the definition of a team does not specify a fixed size.

I’m struggling to make the transition from an individual to a team.

I wish I could find the words to explain what is on my mind.

Maybe you could sit down and put your POA together on paper? I have found that putting stuff on paper clears my head a little. And it's easier to set smaller goals that way.

also remember that a team has less hours than 24 times the number of members in the team. Brook's law holds. Many individuals have far more hours than total team hours per person.

There's the communication overhead. I have a Python interpreter open:
      def overhead(count):
      for i in range(1, count + 1):
      print '%5d:%5d' % (i, (i * (i - 1)) / 2)

      The number of links is (n * (n - 1)) / 2 [yeah?]

          1: 0
      2: 1
      3: 3
      4: 6
      5: 10
      6: 15
      7: 21
      8: 28
      9: 36
      10: 45

It comes down if you have a hierarchy, where one person should have to deal with only 2-3 persons.
