It bothers me so to see Bangalore bursting at the seams. But what can be done? The city's fate is an unfortunate fallout of its success, and of the failure of every other place that lost people to here. I’m standing at a traffic junction waiting to be picked up, and the sight of unfinished construction brought to life in the lighting of hurried traffic, but dampened by the cold, is an unusual and unique experience.

On a somewhat related note, keep this in mind: People are dipshits.

Give me Hyderabad any day, or maybe Pune - still a smallish city. Still comparatively civilized and uncrowded.
Bangalore sucks bad. Bombay sucks the worst (and the attitude of the typical "mumbaikar" about how no other city is as good as mumbai is) sucks even more.
This, from a typical hyderabadi who thinks no other city is as good as hyderabad, and is suffering prolonged withdrawal symptoms from lack of irani chai and real hyderabadi biryani :)

Mumbai is the best anyday ;-PP ;-))
LOL!
PS: Honestly though, I think Mumbai sucks! I'm beginning to think of Pune as my ideal place, after I passed it on my last trip to Mumbai.

Clearly you haven't spent much time in Madras, if you think Bangalore-traffic is "hurried traffic" ...

Go the delhi way. Delhi used to be a nightmare(still is) but things have improved a lot. Of course CNG is partially responsible but the other factor is that the IT industry, the swanky malls the multiplexes have all moved to Gurgaon and to some extent NOIDA. These suburbs are 20-30Km drive on the 6 lane ring road from DELHI. People who live in DLF(gurgaon) etc., need to go to delhi only when they have to go to the airport(which is quite near) or the Railway Station(Nightmare).
Of course delhi as a city has been screwed up quite a bit. But bangalore hasnt reached the stage where delhi had been 5-6 years back, so there is a lot of scope for improvement. Imagine no signal from whitefield to Trinity circle, all in flyovers, then living as far as the bellandur TANK, or 10 kms away on Sarjapur road or near HOSUR wont be much of a problem. Just move out, stay in a satellite town with its own self sustaining ecosystem, and come to the city just to catch the train!
