Google: ad agency?

Google's doing an amazing transition from search engine to classified ad agency. I keep landing up at sites that use a Google ad bar these days.

Windows XP and Knoppix running in virtual machines in Mac OS X:

Virtual PC's integration between Windows XP and Mac OS X is amazing. I can browse my Mac folders from within Windows, can drag and drop files between Mac and Windows desktops, can share the clipboard, can switch to full screen mode, can change resolutions simply by resizing the window in OSX, and can synchronise the time in the virtual machine with the host.

Virtual PC also provides DHCP and NAT services so the OS in the virtual machine can connect to the Net and use all LAN services.

Now to get printing to also work seamlessly...

Paul Graham: Why Nerds are Unpopular

This quote from Paul Graham reminds me of what my school days were like:
Adults don't normally persecute nerds. Why do teenage kids do it?

Partly it's because teenagers are still half children, and many children are just intrinsically cruel. Some torture nerds for the same reason they pull the legs off spiders. Before you develop a conscience, torture is amusing.
